January has been a cold month! Too cold for any outdoor adventures. A few days were warm enough to take a quick spin to keep the battery charged and the juices flowing, but nothing to speak of. So, instead of a ride I will take you to Kiehl’s Cosmetics.
Cosmetics! What are you kidding? Relax, we’re not here for face cream. However we will see a little polish…of the chrome kind.
Beyond the window you can see what I am talking about. In addition to being a cosmetics store, Kiehl’s is a showroom for some vintage motorcycles.
Tucked away throughout the shop are some some beautiful rides.
Looking into the window one can see the store beyond the bike.
Also scattered about the store are some artist creations. Lately it has been various depictions of human skeletons.
I passed by Kiehl’s one evening a few weeks ago and posted this photo.
That bike you see in the window once belonged to Clark Gable.
The oldest bike in the collection is this 1915 Indian.
And finally, this next bike wouldn’t be phenomenal unto itself but it has been enhanced by the steady hand of Von Dutch himself Kenny Howard.
Here’s a little more on Von Dutch.
So if you are ever in NYC and want to check out some vintage beauties, stop into Kiehl’s and have a look.
